LEAD INTERIOR DESIGNER

THE POSITION

A highly experienced Lead Interior Designer who is comfortable adding to and supporting a design team to create beautiful and functional spaces that are innovative and unique to our clients while keeping with the Nicole Davis Interiors aesthetic.  The Lead Designer needs to be consistently bringing creative ideas in line with the given project to the design team. Working directly with architects, contractors and trades; and have a strong knowledge of industry language and standards.  The Lead Designer will work through all phases of a design project, from start to finish, and keep project on a timely schedule while working directly with the Principal Designer. Must actively manage client budgets, schedules, project communications and documentation. Ability to work well leading a design team, giving team guidance and manage delegated project assignments.

THE RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Work on all phases of project from design concept creation to installment

  • Review and help modify construction documents (furniture plans, demo plans, elevations, etc.) for final approval

  • Assist and lead in the creation of presentation boards. Including: CAD drawings, FF&E, color palettes, lighting, etc.

  • Source and work with internal team to procure all finishes, furniture, fixtures and accessories

  • Manage Junior Designers assigned to project

  • Manage multiple projects at once by maintaining a daily and weekly task list for all assigned projects

THE QUALIFICATIONS

  • Must have a Bachelor’s Degree in Interior Design or related field

  • Must have 3+ years experience working at an interior design firm 

  • Must be proficient in AutoCAD, InDesign, Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator and 3D Rendering Software

  • Experience with Ivy Software a plus

  • Proven ability to create comprehensive finish schedules, lighting schedules, etc. that include enough information for quality installation and ordering with few question of clarification from installers

  • Knowledge of design requirements, constructions methods and materials for high end residential design

  • Extreme attention to detail with strong organization skills and the ability to multi-task 

  • Incredible work ethic, follow through, and ability to achieve goals in a deadline based industry

  • Self-motivated, adaptable and ability to thrive in a fast-paced and demanding creative environment

  • Confidence, ability to communicate effectively, and leadership capabilities

THE HOURS AND COMPENSATION 

Lead Designer is a full time, salary position at our studio. We are looking for a long term commitment. Compensation is based on experience.

THE LOCATION

NDI’s interior design studio is based in Orange County. Applicant must be willing to work in or relocate to Orange County.

OPERATIONS MANAGER

THE POSITION

NDI is seeking a talented, organized and process-driven applicant to manage the operations at our design studio. The Operations Manager plays a critical role in keeping design projects moving forward and completing on time and on budget. From ordering and invoicing to office management and client communications, this role plays a key component between the design team and clientele. The Operations Manager will take the design concepts created by our Design Team and bring them to life. This role will work very closely with all departments in the business to ensure policies, deadlines, and processes are being followed.

THE RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Ordering : Collect payment from client in timely manner and place all orders assuring all finishes/fabrics and dimension's are correct.

  • Order Tracking: Track all orders from start to finish for each project, manage receiving, and communicate dates closely with Design Team

  • Invoicing: Invoice Client for design hours, reimbursable expenses, and all design items

  • Client Communication: Handle all client questions pertaining to orders or any returns, answer phones and deliver messages

  • Bookkeeping: Manage payments, credit card management, reconciliation and inventory

  • Calendaring: Manage important dates for each project and scheduling meetings with Design Team

  • Installations: Coordinate with designers and movers/receivers to ensure installations are completed successfully

  • Office Management: Office supplies, customer service, showroom upkeep, etc.

THE QUALIFICATIONS

  • 3-5+ years of relevant work experience

  • Associate’s/Bachelor’s Degree preferred

  • Bookkeeping experience not required but highly preferred 

  • Experience with Ivy Software and Quickbooks a plus
